Which Wall Mount Is Right for Your Setup?

A quick guide before you book โ€” or skip ahead and we'll recommend on the phone

Fixed Mount โ€” $39

Sits flush against the wall. Lowest profile, cleanest look. Best for installations at eye level โ€” bedroom, office, dining area, or any spot where you sit directly across from the TV.

Best when: wall is at viewing height ยท no need to adjust ยท want minimum visible hardware

Tilting Mount โ€” $49

Tilts up and down to angle the screen toward you. Ideal when the TV sits higher than eye level โ€” above a fireplace, above a credenza, or in a basement with low seating.

Best when: mounted higher than eye level ยท glare from windows ยท above-fireplace install

Full-Motion Mount โ€” $69

Swings out, swivels, and tilts. Pull the TV out from the wall, angle it toward the kitchen or sofa. Ideal for open-concept rooms or when one TV serves multiple seating zones.

Best when: open floor plan ยท multiple viewing areas ยท need rear access for cables

Corner / Articulating โ€” $69

Mounts into a corner or out from a thin wall, with full articulation. Solves the "where do I put the TV in this room" problem when no flat wall works.

Best when: corner installation ยท no clear flat wall ยท awkward room layout

Wall Surfaces We Mount On

Every wall type has a different installation method โ€” and a different price

Drywall + Wood Studs

Standard residential walls. We locate studs with a stud finder, drill into structure, anchor to lumber. Most secure, most common.

No surcharge

Plaster + Lath

Older Detroit homes (pre-1960s). Needs slow drilling to avoid cracking the plaster surface, plus toggle anchors where studs aren't reachable.

No surcharge

Brick + Mortar

Common on fireplace surrounds and feature walls. We use a hammer drill and masonry sleeve anchors rated for the TV weight.

+$49 add-on

Stone + Stacked Stone

Trickier than brick โ€” anchor placement has to land in solid stone, not mortar joints. Slower install, more precise drilling.

+$49 add-on

Tile

Tile mounting requires diamond drill bits and slow, lubricated drilling to avoid cracking. We protect surrounding tile and seal anchor holes.

+$49 add-on

Concrete + Cinderblock

Heavy-duty masonry. Hammer drill with concrete bit, sleeve or wedge anchors rated for the TV load. Common in basements and commercial spaces.

+$49 add-on

Wall Mount Installation Process

What we actually do during a typical installation

  1. 1

    Measure and mark

We confirm TV center height with you, locate studs (or anchor points for masonry), and mark exact drill locations using a laser level.

  2. 2

    Mount the bracket

Drill pilot holes, install lag bolts or masonry anchors, and torque the wall bracket to spec. Verified level before TV goes up.

  3. 3

    Attach TV brackets

Bolt the TV-side mounting plates to the rear of the TV using the correct VESA-spec hardware (we bring full assortments).

  4. 4

    Hang and lock

Lift the TV onto the wall bracket, engage the locking mechanism, and verify it's seated correctly with no wobble.

  5. 5

    Connect, test, walk through

Plug in HDMI, power, and any extras. Power on, verify picture, run cables cleanly. Walk you through the warranty.

TV Wall Mount Installation FAQ

What Detroit customers ask before booking a wall mount install

Can I provide my own wall mount, or do you supply one?โ–พ

Either works. If you've already bought a mount, just have it ready and we install it at the standard installation rate. If you haven't, we can supply one โ€” fixed $39, tilting $49, full-motion $69 โ€” added to your install price.

How do you anchor the wall mount โ€” into studs or just drywall?โ–พ

Always into studs (or masonry) for the primary load points. Drywall alone cannot safely hold a mounted TV. If studs don't align with the bracket position, we use rated toggle anchors as a secondary attachment โ€” but the main load is always on structure.

Will the wall mount work with my TV size?โ–พ

We install TVs from 24" to 98"+. The mount has to match your TV's VESA pattern (the bolt-hole spacing on the back) and weight rating. We bring multiple mount and hardware options on every job to handle whatever you have.

How much does TV wall mount installation cost in Detroit?โ–พ

Installation is flat-rate by TV size: $69 (up to 31"), $129 (32"โ€“59"), $149 (60"+ with your help) or $189 (60"+ 2 techs). Add the mount cost if you don't have one ($39โ€“$69), plus $49 for non-drywall surfaces. Full pricing โ†’

Can I have wires hidden inside the wall?โ–พ

Yes โ€” in-wall wire concealment runs from $99 on standard drywall. We fish HDMI and power cables through the wall cavity to a discrete outlet near the floor or behind a media console. Not always possible on plaster or masonry โ€” surface raceway covers are an alternative from $49.

What if my mount fails or shifts later?โ–พ

Every wall mount installation is backed by a 2-year warranty. If anything shifts, loosens, or fails โ€” we come back and fix it free. In 5,000+ jobs we've rarely needed to, but the coverage is there.
